The Brooklyn teacher who flew a drone into a U.S. Open match in September has been sentenced to perform five days of community service according to a report by WABC-TV in New York City.

"Our investigation of the incident revealed that Mr. Verley never intended to allow his drone to fly into the stadium", Brooklyn District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Intentional or not, Daniel Verley a public school teacher whose model aircraft crashed into an unoccupied area of the tennis stadium, will be grounded for about a week while serving his sentence.
